Lonesome

A week ago my sister's family came over to visit us for a couple of days. I was busy showing them around Singapore. My kids have waited for them for almost half a year and they were so excited and happy to be with them. But time flies so fast that before we know it, they have to fly back home. My kids were very much affected. In fact I decided not to send them off to the airport because it would only make my two kids feel even worse. My youngest son who's very open about his feelings would often express how he misses his cousins. That it makes him sad whenever he sees things and places that reminds him of them. Lately he feels lonely most of the time. He often asked me why we need to live in a place far from our family and loved ones. He pointed out that he wants to live and grow surrounded by his cousins and relatives. As a mother, it pains me to see my kids in this difficult situation but I'm hoping that someday when they're old enough, they would understand my reasons...

Rice Krispies Treat

Brown Butter Rice Krispies Treat - I only made half of the recipe and substituted the rice krispies with Coco Pops

I know this isn't much... but for a moment it brought back a smile on their face.

Family is usually the main reason why people refuse to migrate. My MIL's torn between US (her parents and siblings) and Malaysia
(hubby, kids and grandkids).
